Norway Gains Two New IROA Range Masters: Lars B. Sand and Kyrre Lee

Norway can now proudly announce that the country has gained two new IROA (International Range Officers Association) Range Masters in the form of Lars B. Sand and Kyrre Lee. This is a significant milestone for the Norwegian IPSC community and a recognition of the extensive work these two have dedicated over many years.

Lars B. Sand – A Pillar in NROI Norway

Lars B. Sand has been a central figure in NROI (National Range Officers Institute) Norway for over a decade. Since 2015, he has served as a Range Master in all disciplines within IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation), which in itself is an achievement few can match. Lars has also demonstrated his expertise on the international stage, having worked at several Rifle World Championships, including Rifle World Shoot I and II, as well as the European Rifle Championship in 2009 and 2012.

His leadership within NROI Norway has been crucial to the organization’s development. As NROI leader for the majority of a decade, Lars paved the way for many of the standards and practices that NROI Norway follows today. For his tireless work and dedication to IPSC Norway, Lars was awarded honorary membership in IPSC Norway in 2022, an honor reserved only for the most influential figures in the organization.

Kyrre Lee – A Versatile and Experienced Leader

Kyrre Lee is also one of Norway’s most experienced Range Masters, with experience in all IPSC disciplines since 2015. His international experience is extensive, with participation as a Range Officer and Chief Range Officer at several world championships, including Shotgun World Shoot IV, Rifle World Shoot I, and Handgun World Shoot XVII and XVIII. His role as Range Master during Rifle World Shoot II in Sweden in 2019 underscores his leadership abilities and technical expertise.

Kyrre has also held important positions within IPSC Norway, including three years as Regional Director and one year as NROI leader. His commitment and efforts have been instrumental in shaping today’s IPSC environment in Norway.

The Significance of Becoming an IROA Range Master

Being appointed as an IROA Range Master is a great honor and a testament to a high level of competence within IPSC. This appointment requires extensive experience, deep knowledge of IPSC’s rules, and a well-developed ability to handle complex situations on the shooting range. For Norway, which has a relatively small but highly dedicated IPSC community, it is a significant achievement to have two representatives who meet these requirements.

Lars B. Sand and Kyrre Lee will both be part of the staff at Rifle World Shoot III in Finland, further confirming their positions as leading authorities in IPSC internationally.

A Bright Future for IPSC Norway

With the appointment of two new IROA Range Masters, IPSC Norway is stronger than ever. Lars B. Sand and Kyrre Lee have both demonstrated a dedication and competence that will continue to elevate the Norwegian IPSC community to new heights. Their experience and leadership will not only benefit international competitions but also contribute to the continued development and professionalization of IPSC in Norway.

This event reflects not only their individual achievements but also the progress of IPSC Norway as a whole. There is no doubt that these two will continue to be central figures in both national and international contexts in the years to come.
